Dr. Maryam Taleghani
Oral Medicine Specialist
Dr. Maryam Taleghani is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada with specialist designation in Oral Medicine and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Medicine.
She completed her undergraduate Bachelor of Biology degree at the University of California Irvine, followed by her dental degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. She then completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the University of Alberta Hospital.
After years of practice as a general dentist, Dr. Taleghani pursued four years of specialist training in Oral Medicine and Oral Pathology at the University of British Columbia.
In addition to private practice, she has maintained roles as a lecturer, clinical assistant professor, and consultant oral medicine specialist within the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Taleghani is dedicated to exceptional patient care and is passionate about helping patients who are living with pain or dysfunction affecting the mouth and jaw. In recognition of her contributions to dental education at UBC, she has received multiple teaching awards.
She actively participates in annual professional meetings to stay current with advances in oral medicine and orofacial pain, and she regularly shares her knowledge through lectures and seminars for dentists, dental students, postgraduate students, study clubs, and conferences.
